Established in 2002, CRT is recognised by tourism businesses in South East Wales for investing in the future of tourism on a local level and helping to promote a strong product. CRT is perfectly placed to manage change within the industry and to ensure tourism businesses in the region capitalise on every opportunity.
The partners in CRT are all the local authorities and a broad spread of tourism, hospitality and leisure industry representatives from across the region including hoteliers and attractions providers. CRT will act as the lead body for tourism in South East Wales.
This area is defined as the Counties and Borough Counties of:
- Blaenau Gwent
- Bridgend
- Caerphilly
- Cardiff
- Merthyr Tydfil
- Monmouthshire
- Newport
- Rhondda Cynon Taf
- Torfaen
- Vale of Glamorgan.
In addition, CRT also works with Brecon Beacons Tourism.
CRT is one of four regional partnerships (RTPs) across Wales. They were initiated by Visit Wales with the aim of receiving devolved resources and responsibilities for many aspects of tourism marketing and development. The RTPs are Capital Region Tourism (CRT), South West Wales, Mid Wales and North Wales.
