Events Support Scheme

The Events Marketing Support Fund is virtually spent for 2008/09 – we have only a very small amount still available

2008 / 2009 Scheme - START APPLYING NOW !

We are pleased to advise that our Events Marketing Support Scheme will be running again this year. We can’t stress enough the importance of getting your application to us as soon as possible since our funds are very limited and once they’re spent……that’s it!

We will have 3 set review points in the year when applications will be reviewed and assessed by our panel. Applications will not be reviewed outside these times unless the panel feels there is an exceptional reason to do so. Please take a look and make a note of the dates as you will need to ensure that your application is received in time to realistically access funding. Please note that funding is being allocated on a ‘first come first served basis’ (subject to panel approval) so the earlier you apply the more chance you have of securing funding. Once the money runs out, the fund will close regardless of what point in the year we reach. We would encourage any organisers who are ready to submit their application (even if the event is late 2008/early 2009) to do so at the earliest opportunity.

1st Review – Applications to be received NO LATER than 25th March 2008
This will give January – March for organisers to get their applications to us – so this review is ideal for early/later summer events. Of course, don’t forget that you can still apply if your event is in late 2008/early 2009 bearing in mind we are allocating funds on a first come first served basis (subject to panel approval)

EASTER EVENTS: There is one exception to our review panel system – if you have an Easter event, we will undertake an immediate review for you - to qualify, please get your Easter event applications to us immediately and the panel will consider them separately in order to give you enough time to access and use the funding. Cut off date to allow realistic access to funds will be 22nd February.

2nd Review – Applications to be received by NO LATER than 23rd June 2008
This will give April – June as the next period which will cover the late summer/autumn events – and, of course, any events beyond this point.

3rd Review – Applications to be received by NO LATER than 29th October 2008
This is a slightly longer period between July – Oct to allow for those people planning very late 2008 / early 2009 events. We would again point out however, that funding is being allocated throughout the year so there is no guarantee that funds will remain at this time.

Forms you will need to use
The Expression of Interest form is the first stage - this will enable us to offer advice on your project before you complete the full application form.

You will also find our Events Guidelines which will help you to understand more about our scheme and our criteria. Please also see our Application Guidance Sheet which will help you to complete the Expression of Interest form in an effective way and hopefully minimise the time needed to process your application.

Once your event is over, you will need to complete our post event report form and return it to us within 3 months to claim your final grant payment.

To view events taking place in the CRT area, simply log on to www.southernwalesevents.co.uk which is linked to many trade and consumer websites. To make sure that your event is listed, simply call Davina Roberts on 01654 703526. (Davina can e-mail the necessary form to you).

Useful Information for Event Organisers in Monmouthshire and Bridgend.

If you’re based in Monmouthshire, you may also find it useful to speak with Adventa. They have a separate events scheme that you may wish to find out more about. Their festivals site at www.festivals.adventa.org.uk is a useful marketing tool and you can list your own events there too. To find out more about adventa’s event support, please contact Louise McGuinness at louisem@adventa.org.uk

If you’re based in Bridgend, there is a separate Strategic Events Fund that is applicable to your area. In the first instance, please contact Denise Fletcher at fletcdf@bridgend.gov.uk.
