Event Support Scheme
** NEW ** FUNDS FOR 2010/2011
* Applications now welcomed for 2010/2011 *
We are hoping to be able to offer funding for this period. However, we will have a limited sum available should we able to do this.
We are recommending that applications are sent to us as soon as possible so that, should funds become available, we can immediately start the process of allocating grants to successful applicants.
If it is not possible to fund the events marketing grant for 2010/2011, we will let all applicants know and also update this page to reflect this
We review applications strictly in date order — so it's well worth getting in the queue early. The guidelines on the link below should provide plenty of information to help you with your application, but please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
Please note however, that we reserve the right to amend the criteria for assessing the applications at any point but will post any revisions on this site.
APPLICATIONS SHOULD BE WITH US BY 10am on FRIDAY 2nd JULY FOR THE SECOND REVIEW.
We will have 3 set review points in the year when applications will be reviewed and assessed by our panel. Applications will not be reviewed outside these times unless the panel feels there is an exceptional reason to do so. The first review was for applications received by 26th April.
Important Note
Funding is being allocated on a ‘first come first served basis’ (subject to panel approval) so the earlier you apply the more chance you have of securing funding. Once the money runs out, the fund will close regardless of what point in the year we reach. We would encourage any organisers who are ready to submit their application to do so at the earliest opportunity.
Forms you will need to use
The Expression of Interest form is the first stage — this will enable us to assess if your event is one that we might be interested in supporting. The panel usually has some extra questions at this stage so you will probably be asked for more information - this can be done simply via email to keep things moving and allow us to progress your application as quickly as possible. Once all the information is received, the panel will make a final decision as to whether to support your event and make an award. This may be the sum you have requested or it may be less than this depending on the panel's views.
You will also find our Events Guidelines which will help you to understand more about our scheme and our criteria. Please also see our Application Guidance Sheet which will help you to complete the Expression of Interest form in an effective way and hopefully minimise the time needed to process your application.
Once your event is over, you will need to complete our post event report form and return it to us within 3 months to claim your final grant payment.

Useful Information for Event Organisers in Monmouthshire and Bridgend.
If you're based in Monmouthshire, you may also find it useful to speak with Adventa. They have a separate events scheme that you may wish to find out more about. Their festivals site at www.festivals.adventa.org.uk
is a useful marketing tool and you can list your own events there too. To find out more about adventa’s event support, please contact Louise McGuinness at:
louisem@adventa.org.uk
If you’re based in Bridgend, there is a separate Strategic Events Fund that is applicable to your area. In the first instance, please contact Mike Evans at:
mike.evans@bridgend.gov.uk
Please note that Capital Region Tourism is pleased to list supplier suggestions but this in no way implies any personal endorsement of their services.
